Service Characteristics

SkyReachSM is an MPLS-like IP-service via satellite which overcomes terrestrial limitations and can be combined with fixed line services easily. Mainly used for VPNs (p200) and internet access (i200).

 DataLink

Through the combination of international accessibility with increased mobility, DataLink offers expanded opportunities. All communication systems should be available everywhere and in optimum transmission quality. With Telekom Austria’s extensive product portfolio, this is something customers can count on.

The range includes permanent connections between 2 locations or flexible ISDN service, using the mobile satellite equipment. High-performance satellite connections can be provided worldwide.

DataLink Advanced

DataLink is a fully duplex-capable point-to-point or point-to-multipoint connection, based on SCPC technology (Single Channel per Carrier). It enables the transmission of digital signals between small earth stations directly on customer premises (VSATs – Very Small Aperture Terminals) and a customer site in Austria, either via the Telekom Austria gateway earth station (Vienna-Arsenal, Aflenz, Innsbruck) or via a second VSAT.

DataLink can be equipped with voice or data multiplexers, ISDN multiplexers, video conference equipment or Voice-Over-IP servers and can be configured for the simultaneous transmission of voice, data, fax or video channels.

Depending on the customer requirements, DataLink can either be available temporarily or permanently (point-to-point circuit), for the duration of the contract.

Satellite telephony

Globetrotting or business trip. Sometimes journeys lead to locations that are marked on a map, but have infrastructure that is virtually non-existent. A good connection to the rest of the world is essential. With a satellite telephone, you can be reached at anytime and can make outgoing calls worldwide, even in inhospitable terrain.

Furthermore, new areas of application are opened up, e.g. backup solutions for companies or for highly versatile video conferencing.

Cooperation with INMARSAT

In the field of satellite telephony, Telekom Austria has entered into cooperation with the company, INMARSAT, for worldwide accessibility.
